Rails Testing Accelerator
Rails Testing Accelerator is a 4-week training program on the topic of Ruby on Rails testing taught by me, Jason Swett. How it works
Each Sunday for 4 weeks we’ll all hop on a Google Hangout. On the call I’ll give you a Rails-testing-related assignment to complete over the following week. You’ll show me your code and I’ll critique it and give suggestions. I’ll also help you when you’re stuck.
At the end of the 4 weeks you can expect to be meaningfully better at testing than you were when you started. You’ll also join my private Slack group where you can get additional personalized help from me.
Who the class is for (and not for)
If you’ve built a few Rails apps but you haven’t done much testing (or any testing), then Rails Testing Accelerator could be a good fit for you.
I’ve you’ve never worked on built a Rails app, then this program probably isn’t for you. I want students who have worked on at least one Rails application.
If you’re already quite comfortable with testing, it’s probably not for you either. This is more for people toward the beginner/novice end of the spectrum.
It doesn’t matter where you live or what time zone you’re in as long as you can make the weekly meetings at 12pm Eastern time on Sundays.

Rails Testing Accelerator enrollment is currently closed. Enter your email below to get notified when the class opens up. In the meantime you'll receive free Rails tips and advice. (No spam, unsubscribe anytime.)FAQs
Will the meetings be recorded?
Yes, but the recordings will be a bonus, not a guaranteed part of the class. There's too much that can go wrong with live video recordings for me to make any promises.
What technologies will we be using?
Mainly RSpec and Capybara (no MiniTest). We'll also be using adjacent tools like Factory Bot and Faker.
What's the refund policy?
If you join and put forth a good faith effort but still don't feel like you got your money's worth out of the class, I'll give you a full refund.
What People Are Saying
"I think I can navigate more confidently through a codebase test suite. That is if the codebase is using RSpec as their testing framework. I feel more confident in attempting to write tests for features."
"This course definitely opened my eyes about testing in Rails. It makes much more sense to me now. Specifically, the usage of Factories was something I had not done before."
"I would say the biggest thing is that I feel comfortable and understand the mindset that I should have when developing tests...In my mind this is huge!!! I feel really confident in the skills I developed with this course! I can not recommend this program enough!"
"I really enjoyed it and I think it was quite helpful for some gaps that I had when it came to system tests and FactoryBot specifically."
